        <description>The HARMONIZE project addresses the links between extreme weather, environmental degradation, inequality, and disease outbreaks in Latin America and the Caribbean. Its core tool, the Earth Observation Data Cube tuned for Health Response Systems (EODCtHRS), integrates health, climate, and environmental data using open-source technologies and the Brazil Data Cube (INPE). Built on the STAC standard, it ensures interoperability with Python, R, PostGIS, and GeoServer. Four modules drive the system: Drone data (imagery processed into COGs for surveillance in Pará), Health data (via Fiocruz and InfoDengue, using Python packages EHIPR and EDPU), Climate data (ERA5-Land, CPTEC datasets, processed with the rclimpr R package), and the Geospatial Data Science Environment (BDC-Lab), offering cloud tools like QGIS and Jupyter. Funded by the Wellcome Trust and coordinated by Prof. Rachel Lowe (BSC), the project provides early-warning, monitoring, and decision-support capabilities to strengthen public health resilience in climate change hotspots.</description>
